On Thursday, May 4 at 5 pm, Rock Ford Plantation presents a lecture on the Battle of Paoli by Jim Christ, Vice President of the Paoli Battlefield Preservation Fund. Sometimes called the Paoli Massacre, the Battle of Paoli was fought on the night of September 20, 1777 and was the 9th bloodiest battle of the Revolutionary War. The nighttime bayonet raid by General Charles "No Flint" Grey on the camp of General Anthony Wayne left the Continentals reeling and left the door open for the British to finally capture Philadelphia with no opposition.

Jim Christ is Vice President of the Paoli Battlefield Preservation Fund, as well as Treasurer of the Historical Military Impressions, Inc, a non-profit military reenactment group that preforms in several states. Jim is an avid history buff and is also a member of the American Revolution Round Table of Philadelphia, and the Brandywine Valley Civil War Round Table. Jim is works as Director of Client Services for Integrated Software Solutions Inc., in Frazer Pa. Jim is married and lives on what was The Battle of The Clouds, a Revolutionary War battlefield in West Whiteland Township.

This event will be held in the Rock Ford Barn. No reservations required. However, seating is limited.

All proceeds from this event benefit Rock Ford Plantation.
