Co-sponsored by the Susquehanna Folk Music Society Modern-folk duo Friction Farm is a husband-and-wife team of traveling troubadours. Aidan Quinn and Christine Stay combine storytelling, social commentary and humor to create songs of everyday life, local heroes, and quirky observations. From ballads to anthems each song is filled with harmony and hope. Based in South Carolina, Friction Farm first came together in 1998 and combines the talents of two songwriters: lead vocalist and bassist Christine Stay and guitarist Aidan Quinn. Central to the group's music is Christine's powerful voice and their gorgeous harmony singing. They have been the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Finalist and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist. Friction Farm's live performance is full of funny and poignant stories, spontaneous diversions, audience participation, good music, and lots of fun!
