Join us for our Annual Sheep Shearing days on May 4th and May 11th from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. We will have live sheep shearing demonstrations done by a professional. Watch as our sheep take off their winter coat and prepare for the hot summer months. We encourage you to bring the whole family and learn hands on what life is like on the farm. After the sheep shearing demonstrations watch as professional spinners and weavers use the wool to make crafts. There will also be demonstrations done by an Amish farrier. On May 4th he will be on the farm to show you how to make horseshoes. There will be demonstrations by a blacksmith as well. Our resident artisans- Chris Lubkemann, our woodcarver, and Esther O’Hara, our clay artist, will also join in on the fun. Don’t forget to visit our petting zoo and take a buggy ride while you’re here. Be sure to bring cash to buy handmade crafts from the demonstrators and to buy sweet Amish baked goods.
