Every spring the Amish Farm and House hosts sheep shearing demonstrations. This is when sheep take off their winter coat and get ready for the hot summer weather. The demonstrations are done by a professional sheep shearer in our old stone bank barn. As visitors watch they learn how the process is quick and painless for the sheep. We host events like this so everyone can learn a little bit more about animal care and farm life. NEW THIS YEAR: We have an Amish Chicken BBQ stand on our 15-acre farm. David King and his family offer a wide variety of lunch and dinner options. You can choose from grilled chicken, ribs, and sandwiches. Dinners include PA Dutch classics like sauerkraut and whoopie pies. Enjoy a quick snack or meal, ready to eat picnic style on our farm. The BBQ Barn also serves homemade ice cream! Other demonstrators and artisans on the farm: - an Amish farrier - weavers and spinners - Our woodcarver Chris - Our clay artist Esther - Amish baked goods - Buggy Rides
