The Amish Experience at Plain & Fancy Farm is home to the only "experiential" theater on the East coast and the only permanent Magic Lantern Theater in the world. The story of “Jacob’s Choice” focuses on the Amish today through the eyes of the Fisher family, with scenes from Amish history re-created with multiple projection screens, special effects, ghostly images, wind and rain, in a three dimensional set. Shows on the hour - duration approx. 40 minutes. The Amish Experience Theater is open 7 days a week from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM mid-March through December. Shows begin on the hour.

Magic Lantern Shows are also offered, a form of entertainment before there were movies. A Patriotic Show in the summer and a Holiday Christmas Show feature a live Showman, music, and spectacular images from an 1890 magic lantern. In addition, four different shows are available to groups of 25 or more year-round.

Amish Farmlands Tour - For over 50 years, Amish Country's oldest regularly scheduled tours (7 days a week) explores Amish culture up close at work and play with certified guides on 90-minute backroad tours in 14-passenger vehicles. Includes free buggy ride voucher. Take the daily Amish Farmlands Tour 7 days a week at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, or 4:00 PM. April through November.

Amish V.I.P. (Visit in Person) Tour - Unique, intimate visit to 3 Amish properties --- a farm at milking time to observe how the Amish milk cows and cool milk without electricity, a home “cottage industry” to hear about and observe a unique handcraft, and a visit to an Amish family for an informal chat right in their home. (Limited to 14 guests.) Designated Lancaster County Heritage Tour. Tours offered April – November, Tuesday – Saturday at 5:00pm, with added tours at 10:30am and 2:30pm in July through Labor Day.
