Thomas Foster Hermansader, Professional Artist and Innkeeper Owner, purchased this property as his home, studio and art gallery in 1989. Tom, a former art teacher, impeccably restored his 1888 Queen Anne styled home. The building is a three story, three-bay stone and wood-shingled mansion that includes a slate bell-tower, a cross gable that is half-timbered with three double windows, a bay window on the second story, and a veranda with clustered posts and a pedimented entranceway. The gingerbread mansion has ten bedrooms, five fireplaces, many stain glass windows and nooks and crannies everywhere. On the second floor, Tom has five bedrooms available, all with private modern bathrooms. One bedroom features a Jacuzzi, another bedroom has a Kohler Birthday Bath which is an old-fashioned claw foot tub with lots of brass, and the remaining bedrooms have shower stalls. The mansion has a large pond with fish and a beautiful gazebo and the grounds are artistically manicured and just a short walk to many amenities in the quaint river town of Columbia, Pennsylvania. Columbia is nestled along the scenic Susquehanna River and is an American gem. When visiting, you'll sense you've stumbled upon the true meaning of "Small Town America". You have to visit us to really appreciate the Old and the New.
