Lititz Fire & Ice Festival 2022

The coolest event of the season.

There's no place like Lititz, and there's no better time to visit than during their annual Fire & Ice Festival. This year the festival's organizers are stretching out the fun, and the crowds, hosting the festival for 10 days, from February 18th to the 27th. During that time, you're invited to stroll the streets, see all the wow-worthy ice sculptures, and sample all of Lititz's delicious treats.

Highlights of this year's Fire & Ice Festival include a special family-focused day on Presidents' Day. From 11-2 on February 21st, Weaver Energy is turning West Main Street into a Winter Funderland, complete with a bouncy house fun in the fire house, activities from Lancaster Science Factory, and even a special performance by local dancers. On Thursday, February 24th from 2pm-6pm, a special Maker's Market will be held at The Brownstone, located on the corner of Broad and Orange Streets. Here, you'll be able to purchase the wares of local Lititz makers and artists. The town will also host its first ever Local Eyes Photography Exhibition, a showcase of iconic images captured in Lititz by Lititz photographers. See it free throughout the event at The Lititz Shirt Factory.

Of course, in between all the activities, you'll want to make time for shopping. Lititz is known for its vibrant mix of shops. Right now, everyone's buzzing about the expertly curated mix of antiques, art, and homegoods at The Little Timber House on North Broad Street, as well as the fair trade treasures at Bunyaad Marketplace on Main Street. Other shops to put on your must-visit list include Savory Gourmet, Zest!, and, of course, The Tattered Shirt for Lititz-branded shirts, sweatshirts, beanies and more. Oh, and don’t forget to pick up your Wilbur Buds from the Wilbur Chocolate Store!

Likely touring around town shopping and taking photos of all those ice sculptures will work up an appetite. The Blackworth Live Fire Grill features wood-fired cuisine, the perfect way to add some heat to your Fire & Ice experience. Other Lititz favorites include the Bulls Head Public House and the Lititz Springs Restaurant, or check out Tied House Lititz for locally brewed St. Boniface Craft Beer and amazing food. A food truck food court will also greet hungry festival-goers on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday and Monday the 20th and 21st. Given the limits on dining, we highly suggest reservations at the restaurants.

Other in-town attractions include Lititz Springs Park, which is an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll. Adults and kids alike will love greeting the ducks who call the fresh spring that runs through the park home. Another great outdoor spot is the new Tree House Playground. This community designed playground is a place where children of all abilities can play safely. Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, the first commercial pretzel bakery in America, right on Main Street, offers intimate tours of the bakery and the opportunity to become an official pretzel twister! Their shop has a wide variety of pretzels for purchase as well.

Stay overnight in Lititz at The Wilbur Tapestry, Hotel Rock Lititz, Lititz Springs Inn & Spa, or Holiday Inn Express & Suites, to be in close proximity to all the fun!

If you’re a local, this is the perfect time to take a staycation! There’s plenty to do in Lancaster once you’ve completed your Ice Walk Experience. Visit the small town of Manheim, just a short drive away, to shop small at the Prussian Street Arcade or find indoor adventure at Spooky Nook Sports.
