Things to Do in Lancaster County this June

School's out, Lancaster fun is in! Grab the kids and take a road trip to Lancaster County this June.

Special Events in Lancaster County, PA

Lancaster is in full swing this June and so many festivals are starting in the county. The Taste of Lititz returns for its annual block party in the town of Lititz. Enjoy the shops and restaurants along Main Street in Lititz, without any traffic! The street will be closed to vehicles and open from Water Street to Broad Street for an evening block party feel.

On June 1st the Feast of the Senses will be happening at Excelsior in Downtown Lancaster. Come out and support The Touchstone Foundation to support youth mental wellness programs. There will be a unique dining experience with five food and beverage stations highlighting each one of the five senses.

Experience the arts and support local veterans. AnnAnna Creative Cove presents 7 Veterans: "Ideas Into Art" gallery. Happening in Downtown Lancaster on June 2nd from 12pm - 1pm, view artwork from veterans who were tasked to reflect on a memory or event and create that into a work of art.

Head downtown on June 16th to Celebrate Lancaster! This event incorporates live music, food trucks, and more in the celebration of Lancaster City.

Head out to Kitchen Kettle Village for live music, grilled food, yard games, and more during Splash Into Summer!

Head into Intercourse, PA June 17th and 18th for tractor pulls, contests, food, and fun activities during Intercourse Heritage Days. Near by in Strasburg, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm has two festivals in June, the Baby Animal Festival where you can visit the newest farm additions, and the Cider Donut Festival featuring lots of cider donut treats!

Foodie Fun

On June 3rd and 4th sees the return of the Lancaster VegFest, a celebration of the plant-based lifestyle, to Buchanan Park! You can also explore the flavors of Kitchen Kettle Village on June 3rd with a Picnic Tasting Tour or join in on a Summer Solstice Soiree Dinner.

Head out the weekend after to continue the foodie fun! On June 10th, Lancaster Central Market will be hosting their Strawberry Festival. There will be food stands, kids activities, live music and yummy strawberries & strawberry goodies.

On Sunday, the 11th, treat yourself to ice cream at Eicher Arts Center, as they host their Annual Ice Cream Sundae Day!

Celebrate Pride Month and Juneteenth

This year two Pride events will be happening in the County on June 17th at noon, Lancaster Pride Fest happening downtown at the Lancaster County Convention Center and Lititz Pride Fest happening in Lititz Springs Park. During both events, there will be food, entertainment, and local vendors. Come and celebrate Pride and the beautiful diversity that Lancaster offers.

After the Pride events head over to The Ware Center for their 26th annual community fundraising event, Juneteenth Jubilee. Celebrate traditional West African culture with us at this unique event featuring drum and dance performances, food, art, and West African fashions.

Can't make it on June 17th, head out on June 18th for Crispus Attucks Community Center, Annual Juneteenth Cultural Mixer. This free event will include food and beverages, performances, history, and time to gather and reflect.

All Aboard! Family fun awaits you at the Strasburg Rail Road. Try to escape in time during the Escape Room on the Train, or solve a Murder Mystery all while heading down the tracks to Paradise, PA. Make sure you take the kiddos to see Thomas the Tank Engine during Day Out with Thomas, June 17th-27th. Adults can also enjoy the railroad on the Wine & Cheese Train featuring wine and cheese pairings from Waltz Vineyards, or with live performances during Le Train Cabaret.

Catch a game this season with the Lancaster Stormers! On June 4th their hosting a Pet Fest where you can bring your dog to the ballpark and enjoy a game! There will be an opportunity to participate in a contest for best dress Barkstormers!

Reading Railroad Days are back again at the Railroad Musuem of Pennsylvania. See the enormous, detailed HO scale model train layout of the Reading Railroad, operated by members of the Reading Company Technical & Historical Society. Visitors also may view Reading Company equipment from the Museum’s premier collection.

Outdoor Events and Adventures in Lancaster County, PA

Lititz Farmers Market is back! Happening every Thursday at 4pm, now through mid-October, you'll find fresh produce, baked goods (including gluten-free!), flowers, homemade granola, dog treats, fermented goods, and so much more! Each week we’ll feature a local food truck and live music.

Get outdoors this June with the return of the Red Rose Run on the 4th! This 5-mile race takes you through the city and county park and includes a kids run and more!

Long's Park Summer Music Series. Bring your chairs and blankets for the Longs Park Summer Music Series happening through August 28th.

For all the wine lovers out there, our local vineyards have opened their outdoor spaces for the summer. Wine by the Vine Summer Music Series returns bringing you live music every Friday & Saturday evening from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm through October. Experience joy and laughter with friends over a glass of your favorite wine, local beer, or specialty cocktails at Grandview Vineyard.

Just outside of the county is the Vineyard at Hershey which hosts their Decked Out Live Series on Friday nights through September! Rolling Grill is onsite for food purchases, along with wine, beer, cider and soft drinks. Music starts at 7 and it's one you don't wanna miss!

Sipping Wine while walking around Nissley Vineyards and staring at beautiful classic cars, there's nothing better. The Wine & Wheels Car Show happens June 10th from 12pm - 6pm. There will be wine, local craft beer, food trucks, music, and of course a lot of cars.

Guide For 21+

Commemorate history with Riverfest PA on June 25th and 26th. The last Sunday of June 1863, the Columbia-Wrightsville Bridge was burnt down to stop troops from reaching Harrisburg or Philadelphia.

Come out this weekend to participate in outdoor events like paddle boarding, hiking and biking, as well as experience the history! Stay for awhile at one of Lancaster's great campgrounds to further your outdoor adventure.

Free Things to do in Lancaster, PA

Lancaster Creative Factory - Columbia is partnering with the Susquehanna National Heritage Area to bring free STEM Workshops this summer. Happening June 18th, learn about predators and prey and their use of camouflage in nature. Activity will include collage, and a scavenger hunt.

The weather is warm and auctions are back around the county! On June 10th head out to Lighthouse Vocational Services 30th Annual Auction. Bid on anything from beautiful baskets of flowers to power tools, even indoor furniture. There will be slow-smoked pork BBQ, fresh-cut fries or homemade ice cream. Be sure to bring the family for the candy-drop.

The 2024 Lancaster County Benefit Auction on Saturday is happening June 16th! Happening in Leola there will be carriages & carts, quilts, household furniture, farm supplies, and so much more will be up for bid through live and silent auctions.

Lititz Historical Foundation presents their 60th Annual Auction Show happening June 23rd and 24th at Warwick Middle School, come out to see over 50 dealers will present a wide range of interests, like farm items, stoneware, kitchen goods, textiles, coin silver, Pennsylvania folk art, and more!

Amish mud sales, return this month and won't return until the end of September. Head out to Kinzer Fire Company Mud Sale, Lancaster County Carriage & Antique Auction Bird-in-Hand and Refton Fire Company Mud Sale.

Head out to the Shops @ Rockvale on May 6th for the Local Makers Market! Check out goods like candles, soaps, jewelry, sweets, and more!

Head into Lancaster City to explore local galleries and peruse shops. On June 3rd, you can even check out First Friday downtown where galleries stay open later and entertainment is all around. On First Fridays, the Lancaster Science Factory's 70+ exhibits are free!

Similarly, Lititz and Elizabethtown offer Second Fridays, Manheim has First Thursdays, and Ephrata is starting First Saturdays. So no matter where you are in the county you will have a reason to get out and explore your local town.
