Enjoy the sights of Lancaster County’s Northwest River Trail on a 2-hour bike tour in the company of a local guide from Susquehanna Heritage. You’ll see important historical sites as well as some of the trail’s popular features. In addition to cycling along the 190-year-old canal towpath and former railroad, your guide will show you Columbia Crossing River Trails Center, the landmark Columbia-Wrightsville Bridge, Point Rock Tunnel, the Cenozoic-era Chickies Rock Formation, the abandoned pig iron furnace complex, and the Chiques Creek – with some beautiful peeks at the Susquehanna River. Enjoy a pleasant break at the Furnace Road Day Use Area at Chickies Rock County Park. You’ll see some of the trail’s beautiful but less well-known spots as well. At a number of stops, your guide will tell you about the history of the sites that you’re visiting.
