Jonathan Skurnik's Badger Creek is a portrait of Native-American resilience as seen through a year in the life of three generations of a Blackfeet family living on the reservation in Montana. The Mombergsare a loving, sober family who run a successful ranch, live a traditional worldview, and are relearning their native language. Skunik's The Thick Dark Fog is the story of Walter Littlemoon who attended a federal Indian boarding school in South Dakota sixty years ago. The mission of many of these schools in 1950, was still to “kill the Indian and save the man.” The children were not allowed to speak their language or express their cultural identity in any way. What effects did these unresolved traumas of these early abuses cause? At age 58, Walter decided to write and publish his memoirs. The Thick Dark Fog tells the story of how Walter confronted his past in order to heal both himself and his community. Total Run Time: 84 minutes. There is a pre-showing activity or community panel
