Campfire Hikes

Event Details

Jan 22 - Mar 26

Winter doesn’t have to be spent cooped up indoors the entire season! Join us for Campfire Hikes starting from our new Nature Space at the Zimmerman Center for Heritage. Hikes will begin at 1:00 PM with a Susquehanna NHA guide leading participants at a leisurely pace through Native Lands County Park. These walks are rated moderate to easy and are appropriate for both adults and children. Please dress accordingly for walking through a winter wonderland for an hour or more. We will observe winter wildlife and practice species identification along the way, while themes will vary depending on the guide, group interests, and weather. Hikes will conclude with a cup of hot chocolate in hand while warming up next to a toasty campfire!

Due to the smaller size of the Zimmerman Center and available parking, registration is required. $5 for adults, ages 16 & under are free.

Program may be canceled in the event of snow or poor weather conditions. Refunds will be provided.

Safety Protocols and Participation Requirements:

Properly fitting face masks or coverings are required for all individuals ages 3+ during group programs both indoors and outdoors at both of our visitor centers.

Campfire Hikes are an outdoor program and will not be held inside the Zimmerman Center. Please dress for the weather! Register online at
