Lancaster Hot Air Balloon Festival

The Lancaster Balloon Festival is a one-of-a-kind event in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Hosted in the village of Bird-in-Hand, PA by Lancaster Balloon Rides, the festival features the mass launch of dozens of big, beautiful balloons, family entertainment, fireworks, delicious food, Amish goods, and even buggy rides! This is a family-friendly event, suitable for all ages with good food and music in the heart of Lancaster Amish Country.

PA Renaissance Faire Is Back

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire kicks off on August 19th and runs through the end of October 29th. Experience knights, stunts, delicious food and amazing artisans, and more throughout the Faire.

Peruse the village's shops and celebrate the Tailgate Festival at Kitchen Kettle Village on September 15th and 16th with tailgate foods, live music, and games.

Calling all artists! Have the chance to participate in a fun, outdoor art competition at All'Aperto Quick Draw! on September 16th in Lititz Springs Park.
Registration is free and open to all members of the public -- of all ages and experience levels.

For those that are looking for family-friendly events look no further than Bird-In-Hand Fire Company Chicken BBQ Fundraiser happening on September 2nd. Proceeds benefit the Hand-in-Hand Fire Company.

Autumn is an ideal season to visit the nearby farmer's markets and vendor markets as a way to support our local community. The atmosphere is invigorating and refreshing, making it the perfect climate to stroll around and appreciate the creations of our local artists.

Don't forget to visit our roadside stands this time of year! Local farmers will be selling their abundance of crops at local stands dotted across the roads of Lancaster County.

Trains & History

Christiana Heritage Days is happening September 9th through the 10th, this annual event highlights the rich history of Christiana; including Victorian Culture & Industry, and Christiana's historical influence in 1851 as the "first battle of the Civil War".

Get into the spooky season by taking a Ghost Tour at Lititz Historical Foundation. The historic town of Lititz was founded in 1757, making it the prime location for several ghost stories and paranormal happenings

Trains have a rich history here in Lancaster, PA, as Strasburg RailRoad is America's oldest operating railroad! Hop aboard this historic train and enjoy their Wine & Cheese Train, Murder Mystery car or have a Day Out With Thomas.

Learn all about the history of the railroads in Pennsylvania at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania with their Railroad Heritage Day. This event focuses on the nation’s heritage of railroading, with special displays, presentations, and tours.

Outdoors Things To Do in Lancaster, PA

Head back out to Stone Gables Estate for their Horseback Trail Rides. You and your horse will travel through shady forest trails and trek across open pastures. Fun for everyone!

Corn maze fun! Head to Family Fun at Oregon Dairy to partake in their Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch starting September 22nd!

Support the Wolfs at the Wolf Sanctuary of PA during their Full Moon Fundraiser on September 30th. Relax by the bonfire, enjoy some live entertainment, and visit some of the resident wolf packs and learn about wolf conservation and biology.

Free Things To Do in Lancaster County

Head downtown on the First Friday of the month to explore local artists and galleries, independent retailers, music, and entertainment. You can even turn it into a night out on the town by checking out some downtown dining! On the same night, from 5-7pm on First Fridays, the Lancaster Science Factory is free for you to explore their 70 interactive exhibits.

Similarly, you can explore our small towns on their select days. Manheim hosts First Thursdays, Lititz Second Fridays, and Ephrata First Saturdays.
