1. Hit The Trail

As the weather warms up, dust off those sneakers and hiking boots. Lancaster is home to plenty of hiking and biking trails.

2. Bid on a bargain at an annual Mud Sale

These annual auctions are a great way to get a taste of the community, as the Amish and English come together to bid on quilts, housewares, lawn equipment, shrubbery, and more.

3. Celebrate Easter

Celebrate Easter in Lancaster with lots of family-friendly Easter events. Between Easter Bunny Trains at Strasburg Rail Road and egg hunts galore, Lancaster hosts a variety of events to celebrate the holiday.

5. Search for unique treasures

Search for unique treasures at our eclectic antique shops. Shops are plentiful in Adamstown, Columbia, and Lititz to browse. If you’re in town April 26-30, head up to the Antiques Capital for their extravaganza weekend for more deals and extended shop hours.

6. For the Thrill Seekers

Thrills and fun can be had at Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park (great for younger kids) which re-opens on April 1st or Hersheypark (for older thrill-seekers) which opens on April 1st. Both offer rides, games and plenty of excitement!

Head to a museum. Rainy days are unavoidable in the spring, but that shouldn’t ruin your day. There’s a museum for every interest in Lancaster, from industrial topics to hands-on science.

Celebrate rhubarb at Kitchen Kettle’s annual Rhubarb Festival on May 19 & 20 with family-friendly activities, tasty samples, a baking contest, and more. You’ll learn lots of ways to use this spring vegetable, all while enjoying the incredible village.

Try some local wines on the Wine & Cheese Train, solve the mystery on the Escape Room Train, or test your knowledge with the Trivia Night Train. 13. Enjoy Live Music

Live music lovers and music industry professionals won’t want to miss the LAUNCH Music Conference happening April 25th-28th. The conference features panels and lectures, along with tons of music performances. This spring you can also check out Decked Out Live for live music, drinks, and more!

Head to the stage at Sight & Sound Theatres. Daniel is a must-see for those looking for a wholesome Bible story brought to life. You’ll be thrilled by the vibrant costumes and scenery, breathtaking effects, and talent-filled musical numbers as Moses' story comes to life.

15. Upcoming Races

Lace up your running shoes. The Garden Spot Village Half Marathon and 10k takes place on March 23rd. Runners will love the course that takes you through the picturesque farmland of PA Dutch Country. Find more upcoming races.

Visit Lancaster Central Market, Root’s Market or Green Dragon to make the most of the early vegetables and fruits harvested in the spring. It’s the perfect time to score some asparagus, peas, and rhubarb.
