The Lancaster County Planning Commission (LCPC) is the only agency that comprehensively addresses county-wide planning issues.  In addition, the agency assists in protecting the health, safety, and welfare of our residents by providing leadership in the management of growth and change in the county.  The Commission also works to balance the desire to preserve the uniqueness of Lancaster County with the need to enhance the economy, ecology, and built environment.

As part of this responsibility the Planning Commission is also charged with overseeing the development of the Lancaster County Strategic Tourism Development Plan and working with its partners in the implementation of the plan's recommendations.  Additionally, the Planning Commission manages the Lancaster County Heritage Tourism and the Lancaster County Heritage Byways Programs.
