Lights, curtain, action! Theatre lovers, you are in the right place! Lancaster hosts a number of Broadway-caliber productions and high-profile performers throughout the year. Here is a look at what is coming up this season.
It Happened in Key West| January 26th - February 7th, 2024 It Happened in Key West is inspired by shocking true events that rocked the tiny island of Key West in the 1930s. After decades of searching for the dream girl of his boyhood visions, eccentric scientist Carl finds Elena in Key West, only to lose the young beauty to the fatal disease of tuberculosis. But for Carl, the eternal optimist, death is only the beginning.
9 to 5| March 1st - March 24th, 2024 Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.
South Pacific | April 19th - May 19th, 2024 On a South Pacific island during World War II, Ensign Nellie Forbush, a spunky nurse from Arkansas, falls in love with French planter Emile de Becque but she refuses Emile’s proposal of marriage, unable to overcome the prejudices with which she was raised.
Junie B. Jones | April 27th - May 19th, 2024 Junie’s friend, Lucille, doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory | June 14th - July 21st, 2024 The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory… but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas.
Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap | January 19th - February 17th, 2024 Based on the Agatha Christie murder mystery novel. Seven strangers are snowed in at a remote countryside guesthouse. When a police sergeant arrives on skis, they discover – to their horror – that a killer is in their midst! One by one, the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts.
The Addams Family | February 23rd - March 30th, 2024 America’s quirkiest family comes to life! Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. Everything will change on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
Ragtime | April 5th - May 12th, 2024 Set in early twentieth-century New York, three diverse American family tales are woven together.
