Amish Country Scenic Drive

For the ultimate Lancaster County excursion, look no further than this impressive 102-mile loop. Connecting Pennsylvania Highways 23, 272, 283, 340, 462, and 82, US Highways 30 and 322, Lincoln Avenue, Musser Road, North Railroad Avenue, and Rothsville Road, this self-guided tour is a greatest-hits journey through the heart of the county. Beginning in Downtown Lancaster, you'll wind your way through many of the county’s charming communities.

Tip: Set aside just over three hours for the drive itself, though you'll almost certainly want to pull over, explore, and soak it all in along the way.

Old Philadelphia Pike

Few roads capture the spirit of Lancaster County quite like Old Philadelphia Pike. Route 340 connects Lancaster, Bird-in-Hand, and Intercourse, passing through some of the region's most iconic small-town scenery. Along the way, stop in at the Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord for a hearty Pennsylvania Dutch meal or shop for high-quality artisan goods at Bird-in-Hand Artisan Village.

Tip: Turn down any side road off PA-340 and you'll instantly find yourself surrounded by stunning farmland as far as the eye can see.

Conestoga Ridge Road

As a National Scenic Byway, the drive along PA-23 and US 322 from Blue Ball to Morgantown is a true pastoral masterpiece. Fields of alfalfa, corn, and tobacco line the road as it winds through the Conestoga Valley, where small family farms are nestled among picturesque hills.

Lincoln Highway

Spanning 200 miles across south-central Pennsylvania, Lincoln Highway (Route 30) is full of scenic moments and vibrant towns. The highway cuts right through Lancaster, delivering a lively corridor of shopping, dining, and family-friendly fun, perfect for breaking up your roadtrip with some activity.
