Spring

Snow Geese at Middle Creek

Visit the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA), between mid to late February to catch a glimpse of majestic snow geese and tundra swans relaxing at the lake. Thousands of birds use the WMA as a resting place on their returning migration back north, some traveling as far as Canada for nesting.

Rhubarb Festival

Head out to Kitchen Kettle Village for the annual Rhubarb Festival! There are plenty of activities for young and old, families and couples alike. See the fastest rhubarb cars in the world’s only rhubarb race-car derby. Dance down Pepper Lane to live music and interact with fun entertainers. The Spring ArtWalk is a self-guided tour of the downtown galleries in Lancaster. Special exhibitions, meet-the-artist events, children’s activities and live demonstrations are all available for discovery within the bustling independent galleries of Lancaster city.

FlavorFest

Flavorfest at Mount Hope Estate, PA’s premier wine festival, comes to the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire on Memorial Day Weekend. Enjoy sampling with over 25 wineries and distilleries, along with vendors, unique merchants, and grab-and-go bites at one of the on-site kitchens.

Lancaster Balloon Festival

The Lancaster Balloon Festival is a one-of-a-kind event in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Hosted in the village of Bird-in-Hand, PA by Lancaster Balloon Rides, the festival features the mass launch of dozens of big, beautiful balloons, family entertainment, fireworks, delicious food, Amish goods, and even buggy rides!

Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon

Weaving around the famous Amish farmlands of Lancaster County, this is a course that challenges your body and refreshes your soul. Dotting the route are water stations staffed by Amish families and Amish one-room school houses to serve as your rest stops.

Harvest Days

A culmination of a year’s worth of hard work, Harvest Days is Landis Valley’s oldest and largest family event. Come for demonstrations, exhibits, live music and activities, as well as horse-drawn wagon rides and a children’s discovery tent. All of this and more are packed into two fun-filled days.
