Award-winning classical guitarist, Andrew Oswinkle, will be featured in a free 30 minute First Friday concert on June 7, 2024 at First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange Street, in downtown Lancaster. A native of Baltimore, Andrew has advanced degrees in classical guitar from Peabody Conservatory, and is an enthusiastic performer, bringing his music to formal concert stages as well as local events and non-traditional venues. His program will include selections from Bach’s “Cello Suite No. 1”, “Vals” Opus 8 No. 4 by Agustin Barrios, “Asturias” by the Spanish composer, Isaac Albeniz, and his own arrangement of the hymn “Be Thou My Vision”.

The First Friday concert series is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to hear 30 minutes of inspiring music that will refresh your soul and inspire your spirit.
