May 6, 1778 was a beautiful day for a celebration at the Valley Forge encampment. The alliance between France and the United States of America, important in supplying vital military and financial aid to the new country, had just been ratified. Now, Washington’s soldiers could hope that the war would soon be over, the Continental Army would disband, and they would go home. This presentation by Nancy K. Loane, Ed.D. is about the biggest party ever held at Valley Forge.
This lecture is part of our America250 Lecture Series and will be held in the Langmuir Education Room located on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn.
Ticketing will open in early 2026.
