Ashwini Ramaswamy’s Let the Crows Come
This event has expired and is here for your information.
Legends throughout the world depict crows as instructors for the living and guides for the departed. This is the central theme of dancer/choreographer Ashwini Ramaswamy’s breath-taking new work which features Bharatanatyam dance and a soundscape of live musicians, who channel the mythography and ancestry of Indian culture through varying perspectives. Beginning at 6:45 P.M., a free 20-minute Audience Perspective talk will be given by a professional artist or a university/community scholar to provide insight and perspective related to the performance. Seating is limited and not guaranteed. Early arrival is encouraged. Audio description and ASL interpretation will be offered for this performance. Let the Crows Come is a recipient of the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project Touring Award, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
