Early American Gardening to Table/ Native Plants Sale

Have you ever wondered what your forefathers ate? Where did they obtain the food? Michael Cassidy, a Master Gardener with Penn State Extension, will answer these and other questions during his presentation on historic gardens, pollinators, and native plants on Sunday, May 12th. The "What Early American Cookbooks Tell Us About Gardening" lecture will begin at 2 p.m. in the Fasig House at 30 East High St., Manheim, PA. The Manheim Historical Society is holding a Native Plants Sale and raffles, with proceeds benefiting the Society's Educational Events Program. Tours of the Fasig and Keath 17th and 18th century log homes and artifacts, all of which are original to Manheim, are available from 1-4pm. Fasig House will close from 2 to 3 p.m. for the event. Free parking is available in the rear of the house museums, which are located at 30-32 East High St. in Manheim, PA.
