River Towns Plein Air 2023

River Towns Plein Air (RTPA) is Lancaster County’s premier outdoor painting event spotlighting original artwork completed on location over an 8-day period in the historic Susquehanna River communities of Marietta, Columbia and Wrightsville PA. Sixty participating artists compete for $5000 in cash awards during the culminating juried exhibition and sale held at the Marietta Community House / Studio 264. RTPA is organized by Marietta Art Alive!, the arts-in-action team of RIVERTOWNES PA USA, a 501c3 organization dedicated to cultivating art, heritage and
recreation in the lower Susquehanna River Valley.

April 12-19 | ARTISTS’ PAINT OUT
60 artists paint outdoors in designated areas along both
sides of the Susquehanna River

April 15 | QUICK DRAW in COLUMBIA
Artists of all ages participate in a 2-hour community paint
out, compete for cash awards and sell their work. Juried
by Matt Allyn Chapman, co-owner, Curio Lancaster.
$10 Registration fee Time: 10AM-2PM Rain Date: April 16.

April 21-23 | JURIED EXHIBITION & SALE
STUDIO 264 doors open at 5PM on April 21for the first
opportunity to view and purchase beautiful 2-D works of
art created on location. Last year’s event attracted
500+art lovers and collectors. FREE ADMISSION, ADA
equipped facility. Juror: Gary Tucker
