Over 400 women—and some exceptional ladies—wintered at the Valley Forge Encampment. Although much has been written about General George Washington’s leadership there, the transformation of the Continental Army, and the hardships suffered by the soldiers for those six months in 1777-1778, the stories of the women with the army are rarely heard. This presentation by Nancy K. Loane, Ed.D. will introduce you to the women of Valley Forge and give new perspective on the famous encampment.
This lecture is part of our Untold Stories of the Revolution Lecture Series and will be held in the Langmuir Education Room located on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn.
Ticketing will open in early 2026.
