Lancaster County Wood Carvers | 48th Annual Woodcarving & Wildlife Art Festival

Exhibits and Displays of Wood Carvings and Wildlife Art are hosted by the artists.

This festival we hope to have a record of 60+ different exhibitors and three or more vendors attending.

Woodcarving Illustrated and Fox Chapel Publishing are planning to host an area called “Spit and Whittle” for carvers and attendees to sit and share information and to carve and to watch demonstrations.

Demonstrations / Lectures / Presentations of one hour duration will be given every hour by various carvers including our featured carver and other local carvers. Schedule will follow in the future

Carving “5 Minute” Owl or Hedge Hog – hands on carving for beginners, or new carvers, or those who just want to try carving. All supplies and tools will be available for use with basic safety and techniques shared. Instruction and guidance will be provided by club members. Each session will take about an hour and will start on the hour and on the half-hour. At the end of the hour most will leave your own owl or hedgehog. Must be at least 18 years old and everyone must sign a waver to participate in a session.

Woodcarvings and Wildlife Art are available for purchase from many of the artists and carvers. Many pieces of original work by carvers and other artists will be available.

Vendors expected this year will also be selling carving and art tools, supplies, books, wood, etc.

  • The Carving Glove Guy, Don Butler, proprietor / carver from Michigan

Silent Auction will be held for a number of carvings and wildlife art donated by exhibitors and club members, as well as a variety of other items. Silent Auction will be ending between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will be split evening between the club’s Beginner Carver Fund and one local non-profit organization. Visa and MasterCard accepted for Silent Auction payment.

Door prizes of carvings done by the Lancaster County WoodCarvers will be awarded regularly throughout the Festival.

The competition is open to exhibitors and club members only. Entries must be entered Friday between 4 and 8 p.m. or Saturday between 6:30 and 8 a.m.. Competition pieces must remain in the show for the duration of the show.

  • American National Cane Club (ANCC), a sister club that focuses on canes and walking sticks and meets monthly in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
  • Conewago Carvers, a sister club which is very active west of the Susquehanna River, meeting in East Berlin, Pennsylvania.
  • West Shore Woodcarvers, a sister club which is very active west of the Susquehanna River, Mechanicsburg (Hampden Township), Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
  • Yorkarvers, a sister club from the York area of Pennsylvania.
  • PA Delaware Valley Woodcarvers, a sister club from Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
  • William Rush WoodCarvers, a sister club in Media, Pennsylvania.
  • Pennsylvania Gourd Society, a sister club will be present with a display of their art on/with Gourds.
