Pack a chair or blanket and spend the day watching live performances from the Living the Experience Underground Railroad Reenactment, Imani African Dance Company, I See Magic, DJ Cool LA, and headliner Mz Bree & Funk Tyme Soldiers. Visit artisan vendors and food trucks between performances.
Juneteenth is a perfect opportunity to go deeper into the history that shaped this region. Lancaster played a significant role in the Underground Railroad and the Civil War, and there are meaningful ways to explore that history year-round.

Attend a reenactment by Living the Experience, a creative, spiritual, and interactive historical reenactment of the Underground Railroad, as it occurred at the church. Audiences receive an honest portrayal of the realities of those involved, told through storytelling and spirituals. A Southern-style meal is served following the performance.
Explore Lancaster's African American history on foot with a guided walking tour led by members of the African American Historical Society.
