The first exhibit fully curated from North Museum’s collections, Shallow Seas takes visitors through three different marine environments around the Atlantic and Arctic Ocean. From the North Museum’s 250,000+ objects in its collections, this new exhibit brings forward its cache of marine-based treasures, highlighting animal and plant life found in the sunlit waters around the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. This exhibit includes items that have not been displayed since the 1960s.

The Planetarium
The North Museum is the first museum in the world to have a 41 foot Spitz cove-mounted SciDome XD Touch system. With our SciDome XD Touch system, our educators can spark your students’ interest and give them a personalized, interactive and fully immersive introduction to astronomy, earth sciences, or meteorology, using incredible imagery and animations. The North Museum Store
Treat your inner scientist to a gift or souvenir from the Museum shop, the North Store. From crystal growing kits to rocks, fossils and minerals, to authentic scale replicas of the Carnegie Museum dinosaur collection, there’s something here for every junior scientist. Members receive a 10% discount off purchases at The North Store.
Hours and Admission
The Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday 10 am to 3 pm. Group and student tours are available weekdays; advanced registration is required.
Admission to the Museum is $11.00 for adults, and $11.00 for juniors (ages 3-17) and seniors (65 and over). Planetarium shows alone are $9, or $18 for Planetarium + Museum admission combo. The Museum is free for children two and under.
The Museum is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
