President James Buchanan's Wheatland

Visit the beloved home of 15th President James Buchanan! Step inside the beautifully preserved 1828 mansion on a guided tour, and explore the life and legacy of America's only bachelor president, along with the lives of many individuals who lived and worked within its walls. Take in the rooms where a president once stood and consider the decisions he made leading a nation on the brink of civil war.

Tours of Wheatland are available Mondays - Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. Tickets may be purchased online at lancasterhistory.org or at the door at the LancasterHistory Museum & Research Center, located at 230 N. President Avenue. All tours depart from the LancasterHistory Museum & Research Center down to the mansion.
