The 23rd annual Millersville Community-University Parade is led by a committee of 15 business/community/university and student members. This 3-hour, prize-winning parade attracts as many as 20,000 spectators along a 2-mile route. This parade is one of Lancaster County’s largest parades with participants from PA, NJ, MD, VA and DE. The volunteer parade day workforce comprises 125 people of all ages. Primary funding is derived from 70+ local businesses, individual donations, raffles and other fundraisers. This is the single-most largest community area event—with over 2500 participants. It has grown in popularity among the parade participants, businesses’ financial support and crowd attendance. The budget is $100K, which includes $65K in cash and over $35K in gifts in kind. The largest expense item is entertainment (approximately $35K), which includes 25 varied music groups. 2019 theme: A Halloween Monster Mash.
