Through the unforgettable stories of American Mary Johnson, who grieves a murdered son; Debra Hocking, a victim of the government-sanctioned removal of Aboriginal children from their families in Australia; and KilongUng, who survived the terror of the Khmer Rouge, RISKING LIGHT challenges us to examine our own beliefs about forgiveness and ask “What would the world look like if we could learn to forgive one another?” A thought-provoking documentary that explores resilience and the painful process of moving from grief to compassion and forgiveness. Run Time: 86 minutes. Directed by Miranda Wilson. There is a pre-showing activity or community panel at 6:15 p.m. along with the screening at 7, and post-show Q & A with the film's director. On Screen/In Person is made possible by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation through the generous support of the National Endowment for the Arts’ Regional Touring Program.
