DAY ONE

KITCHEN KETTLE VILLAGE | 3529 Old Philadelphia Pike, Intercourse, PA 17534

A day at Kitchen Kettle Village is like no other. With over 40 specialty shops, restaurants, and plenty of hands-on activities including a self-guided tasting tour in the Jam & Relish Kitchen, there is so much to do. Try a horsedrawn carriage ride through picturesque farmland. Allow at least 2 hours

BUGGY RIDE

Travel like the Amish do with a horse and buggy ride through the countryside. Places like Abe's Buggy Rides, Aaron & Jessica’s and AAA Buggy Rides offer rides that take you through the countryside with an Amish or Mennonite driver at the reigns. Along the way, drivers encourage questions, and can provide history and facts about the Amish lifestyle in Lancaster County. Allow between 30 minutes to 1.5 hours

THE AMISH EXPERIENCE | 3121 Old Philadelphia Pk, Bird-in-Hand, PA 17505

The production, “Jacob’s Choice,” features an intimate view of the Amish today through the eyes of the Fisher family and scenes from Amish history re-created with multiple projection screens. Afterward, experience an Amish V.I.P. (Visit-in-Person) Tour which includes visits to three Amish properties: a dairy farm, Q&A in an Amish home, and a session with an Amish schoolteacher, who may even join you for dinner! Allow 3-4 hours

PLAIN & FANCY FARM RESTAURANT | 3121 Old Philadelphia Pk, Bird-in-Hand, PA 17505

For dinner, visit Lancaster County’s original family-style restaurant, featuring delicious food, an enormous country store, farm animals, and more. Allow 1.5 hours

DAY TWO

AMISH FARM & HOUSE | 2395 Covered Bridge Drive, Lancaster, PA 17602

Explore the 15-acre farm and learn about the unique culture of Lancaster County’s Old Order Amish. Guides will explain the history, customs, clothing, and culture as you visit the various rooms of the home. See a wide variety of farm animals and visit the one-room school house and historic 1805 farmhouse, which was once home to a real Amish family on the property. Allow 1-2 hours

MENNONITE INFORMATION CENTER | 2209 Millstream Road, Lancaster, PA 17602

This unique experience serves as a resource for many individuals, families, and groups, seeking to learn more about the unique way of life and faith of the Amish and Mennonites. Allow 1 hour

BIRD-IN-HAND FARMERS MARKET | PO Box 412, Bird-in-Hand, PA 17505

You will find a brightly lit, well-kept market featuring approximately 30 local vendors offering a wide variety of homemade baked goods, spices, bulk foods, specialty teas and coffee, fresh fruits and vegetables, and more. There are also hand-made quilts, leather goods, wooden toys, and beautiful silk flower arrangements. Allow 1 hour
