The gracious circa 1794 Georgian-style brick mansion of General Edward Hand, Adjutant General to George Washington during the Revolutionary War, allows visitors to experience refined country living as it existed during the early years of the American Republic. Exquisitely furnished with three floors of period antiques, Rock Ford is located along the banks of the Conestoga River on 33 rolling acres just minutes from outlet shopping, Sight & Sound Theatres and historic downtown Lancaster. The museum is air conditioned for visitor comfort.

Rock Ford offers group visitors a variety of specialty “focus tours” including the following offerings:

• Rock Ford’s collection of 24 Pennsylvania Rifles dating from the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

• General Hand and the American Revolution

• 18th-Century Medicine

• Ghosts, Lore and Legends of Rock Ford Plantation

• Candlelight Yuletide and Halloween tours

With adequate advance notice, you may also arrange a catered lunch or tea at our special event facility on the grounds of the plantation.
