Zimmerman Center for Heritage - Susquehanna NHA

As a designated National and State Heritage Area, the Susquehanna National Heritage Area helps identify, preserve, interpret and promote the wonderfully rich heritage and culture of Lancaster and York Counties.

Visit the two centers they manage along the Susquehanna River. Columbia Crossing located along the NW River Trail in Lancaster County and the Zimmerman Center for Heritage on the York County side of the river. You'll find great childrens activities scheduled throughout the year, interesting heritage tours about local native american tribes, and an amazing river art collection.

Explore the Susquehanna aboard the Chief Uncas! Built in 1912 for beer magnate Adolphus Busch, this electric-powered launch cruised Otsego Lake, the headwaters of the Susquehanna, for over a century. Today she cruises the Susquehanna 400 miles downstream as the flagship for SNHA's River Discovery Tours!

Let SNHA staff guide you on a tour of the river, sharing its natural beauty and cultural heritage. Experience the joy of being on the water, hear stories of the river, and view unspoiled scenery and abundant wildlife aboard this elegant treasure from the past! Tours depart from the Zimmerman Center Memorial Day through mid-October.

Advance reservations are recommended. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for youth (ages 5 to 17). Children under 5 years old are free. Visit www.susqnha.org/boat-tours to learn more!
