Amish Country

Head out to the winding roads of Lancaster’s Countryside. If you’re out in Bird-in-Hand or Intercourse, odds are you’ll see a horse and buggy galloping along the road or an Amish farmer working on the fields. Columbia Crossing River Trails Center

Enjoy a leisurely bike ride near the river with the entire family! The Northwest Lancaster County River Trail begins at Columbia Crossing and stretches 14-miles to the river town of Falmouth. The trail follows the route of historic Pennsylvania Mainline Canal and some remains of the original towpath are visible from the trail. In addition to hiking, biking, running, and walking, Columbia Crossing River Trails Center is a picturesque picnic spot. There are plenty of tables and pavilions that make for a beautiful outdoor setting, rain or shine! To learn more about the heritage of Columbia and the Susquehanna River, stop in the visitor and education center at Columbia Crossings, during their seasonal hours.

Strasburg Rail Road

The Strasburg Rail Road is America’s oldest operating railroad. The railroad is the perfect destination for families, train enthusiasts, and people looking for a relaxing ride in the countryside. The railroad also hosts events year-round to engage guests of all interests. See Thomas and Friends at the Railroad on specific dates throughout the year. The event includes a steam train ride on Thomas the Tank Engine, lawn games, photos opportunities, and more!

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm is a premier destination for families in Lancaster County. May through September, the farm is open for general admission with special events taking place occasionally. There is so much fun to had at Cherry Crest, including their award-winning Maize Maze. Take a farm tour wagon ride, watch the singing chicken show, have fun on the hay jump, and so much more!

The Exchange Lancaster

Rooftop dining is plentiful in Lancaster. The Exchange, located on top of the highest tower in Lancaster City, is a vibrant cocktail bar.
