From festivals to kayaking, there’s plenty to do for Labor Day Weekend in Lancaster!
For many folks, Labor Day Weekend is the unofficial end of the summer. However, there is still plenty to do in Lancaster, PA before you pack your white pants away and dive into the school year. From Friday through Monday, look forward to everything from fine wine and original art, to waterparks and live music.
September 1st – 15th, 2020
Tons of gift cards, autographed sports memorabilia, and more are up for bid! This year’s Labor Day Auction will take a virtual format. Livestreams and new items to bid on will be added throughout the Auction to be sure to check-in for the duration of the auction. All proceeds help to provide personalized, quality care and comfort for hospice patients and their families.

Imagine the fun you can have with friends & family when you shop, play and score at Tanger Outlets during the Labor Day Weekend Sale! Find extra savings on your favorite name brand outlet stores. On Saturday from 12 PM - 5 PM, enjoy a sports-themed family fun event with entertainment and activities for everyone including a free kids creation station, strolling super heroes, local food trucks including Sherri's Crab Cakes, KC Italian Ice, The Nacho Depot and Sabatino's Pizza Grill along with live music. Orange Theory Fitness Studio will be on-site offering a register to win FREE coached fitness sessions too.

The market will have an amazing variety of handmade goods, including items such as: body & skin care, candles, home decor, woodworking items, jewelry, apparel, accessories, photography, pottery, sweet & savory goodies, wine/mead tastings and so much more! Food Trucks will be on site outside to serve you with an outdoor seating area to enjoy live music from the Brandon Isaiah Project.

Rated as one of the top five East Coast art fairs, the Long’s Park Art Festival will be celebrating their 40th festival in beautiful Long’s Park. Many artists from all over the United States will be exhibiting their art including photography, painting, jewelry, sculpture, digital, fiber, metal, and wood art, as well as furniture. A bistro area in the park will be serving up local food, wine and craft beer.

Enjoy a leisurely 50cc scooter ride through the back roads of Amish country with Strasburg Scooters. Ride past Amish farms and schoolhouses, and possibly pass a few buggies along the way, and discover historic covered bridges throughout the county.
Try a new adventure and take a kayaking class at Shank’s Mare Outfitters. This 5-hour class offers complete instructions for touring kayaking including paddling strokes, wet exits and safety skills.

September “Ice Cream” Sunday will be held at the Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum from noon to 3 PM. Families can partake in wagon rides, live music, children’s activities, and free ice cream sundaes on the property.
The Susquehanna National Heritage Area offers River Discovery Boat Tours for groups up to 10 passengers. On these pontoon boats, guides will lead you on a 70-minute tour of the river where you will experience the joy the water, hearing stories of the river and viewing beautiful scenery ant wildlife. Tours are offered free of charge thanks to the grants from the PA Department of Conservation and Nation Resources/Heritage Areas programs, as well as the National Parks Service/ Chesapeake Bay Gateways Program. Tours depart from the Zimmerman Center for Heritage dock, Saturdays and Sundays September 5 through 27 and Labor Day Sept. 7 at 10:00 AM, 11:45 AM, and 1:30 PM. Online reservations are recommended.
Join the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire on opening weekend! Several events are scheduled for a full day of fun at the Faire. Enjoy fine wines and local brews as you step back in time to the Renaissance era for a day.
Visit the Nissley Winery for a wine tasting! Bring a picnic and some lawn chairs or a blanket, and enjoy an evening with a chilled bottle of wine. Must be 21 to attend, bring photo I.D.
Everyone loves a good cook-out for Labor Day, try serving some of our locally produced meats and vegetables at your party. Fresh foods can be picked up at Central Market on Friday or Saturday from 7 AM - 2 PM, or at many of the various farm stands around the county.
