Fall Lecture at Ephrata Cloister

Historic Ephrata Cloister invites you to a special lecture on Thursday, October 1, at 7 PM on the Ephrata Cloister Military Hospital presented by Site Administrator Bradley Smith. The lecture will take place in the Visitor Center auditorium and will last approximately 60 minutes.

In 1732, German pietists established a semi-monastic, pacifist community that we know today as the Ephrata Cloister. In 1777, this quiet community was forever changed when the Continental Army established a hospital on the Cloister grounds. Join Bradley Smith for a deep dive into this fascinating topic as we explore never-before told stories of the Cloister hospital and discuss the people who served or were treated here.

Admission: Free for members of the Ephrata Cloister Associates or $10 for non-members.

Format: Attend the lecture in person in the Visitor Center auditorium. Additionally, a recording of the session will be made and sent out as a link to participants. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good seat.
