Rolling Through History: The 2026 Amish Country Fondo
Experience the rhythm of the rails and the quiet clip-clop of horse-drawn buggies at the Amish Country Fondo, a premier cycling celebration held in the heart of Lancaster County. On August 29, 2026, cyclists from across the country will gather at The Barn at Paradise Station for an immersive journey through the scenic Susquehanna Valley—a landscape defined by 19th-century charm and world-class agriculture.
Whether you are a seasoned endurance athlete or a casual weekend explorer, this event offers a unique "Farm to Fork" perspective on Pennsylvania Dutch Country.
A Venue Steeped in Heritage
The day begins and ends at The Barn at Paradise Station, a meticulously restored 19th-century bank barn. As you prepare for your ride, you’ll be treated to iconic views of lush Amish farmsteads and the passing vintage steam trains of the Strasburg Rail Road, the oldest continually operating steam train in North America. The rustic elegance of the venue sets the perfect stage for a day of community, fitness, and flavor.
Routes for Every Rider
The Amish Country terrain is famous for its "gentle giants"—a scenic blend of rolling hills and short, invigorating climbs. As you pedal through corn stalks reaching eight feet high, you’ll choose from four distinct distances tailored to your skill level:
The Gran Fondo: The ultimate challenge for those looking to test their legs across the agricultural landscape of the County. 62 miles
The Medio Fondo: A balanced distance perfect for enthusiasts who want a solid workout with plenty of time for sightseeing. 50 miles
The Piccolo Fondo: A shorter, accessible route for those who want to experience the highlights without the high mileage. 32 miles
The Ramble Ride: A relaxed, entry-level distance ideal for beginners. 15 miles
Each route is thoughtfully designed to showcase the region's unique features, including several of Lancaster County’s 28 historic covered bridges. Our curated farm stops allow you to refuel with fresh, seasonal snacks sourced directly from the farms you’re riding past. By participating, you are directly supporting the vibrant agricultural community that makes this region so special.
Don't miss your chance to experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of Amish Country from the best seat in the house—your bicycle.
