Homestead Days at Plain & Fany Farm
June 20, 2026
11:00 AM
–3:00 PM
Step into the traditions of Lancaster County at Homestead Days, a family-friendly summer event series at Plain & Fancy Farm. Held on the third Saturday of each month from June through September, this immersive experience brings Pennsylvania Dutch heritage and farm living to life through hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and local flavors.
Watch a demonstration on horse care and washing, and see a blacksmith shape and fit horseshoes using traditional tools. Throughout the farm, artisans showcase heritage trades like basket weaving, canning, leatherwork, and farming—many with interactive elements for guests of all ages. See website and socials for details as to what demonstrations, activities and vendors will be there each month.
Families can enjoy a farm-wide scavenger hunt, historic yard games, and fun photo opportunities. Visitors can also learn about Amish schooling and daily life, or take a countryside buggy ride with Aaron & Jessica’s tours (additional fee).
On select dates, experience storytelling and live chalk art presentations by Elva Hurst, offering a unique glimpse into Plain culture and early American life (advance tickets recommended).
Sample Lancaster County favorites at the Barn & Hearth Shop, including chow chow, dandelion jelly, and fresh baked goods like whoopie pies and shoofly pie. For a full meal, enjoy Pennsylvania Dutch favorites at Smokehouse at Plain & Fancy Farm.
Most activities are free, with select specialty experiences available for a small fee.
