Temperatures
December typically begins with daytime temperatures in the low 40s, with lows in the evening of the mid 20s or below. January typically starts in the low to mid 30s, and ends in the high 30s. February is typically in the low to mid 40s. Evenings are typically cold, and range from the low 20s to the mid 20s in February.
Attire
Appropriate clothing for travelers in the winter months is long pants and a heavy jacket. You may want to check the weather before you come and pack your snow boots if snow is expected.
Precipitation
Lancaster County sees average amounts of precipitation for the Northeast. The average snow/rainfall is almost 3" per month. During the cold season, precipitation is most often in the form of light to moderate snow or light to moderate rain.
