It’s that time again – when Lancaster’s countryside comes alive with the colors of fall. Lancaster is waiting for you to discover all the hidden treasures of its harvest season. Hit the road for that spontaneous getaway you’ve been meaning to take. You’ll likely catch the Amish in the midst of plowing fields and will love the variety of seasonal produce and homemade sweets at farmers’ markets and roadside stands. Spend a lazy day strolling the streets of charming towns and villages, or hop right into the action of harvest-time events.

Farmers Markets
Fall is a great time to visit our bountiful farmers markets and roadside stands. Our markets start bustling bright and early, and are always stocked with produce fresh from the fields, succulent fruits, local meats and cheeses, and the sweetest baked goods. They are also some of the best places to pick up local delicacies like home-made jellies, relishes and chow-chow. You can even grab a bouquet of fresh flowers, many of which are grown right here in Lancaster County.

Covered Bridges
Just the sight of the historic covered bridges of PA brings to mind thoughts of old charm and romance. And in Lancaster County - the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country - we have plenty of both! Sometimes referred to as "kissing bridges" because of the many couples who have strolled across them over the years, our area offers more than two dozen of these architectural beauties each with its own inviting story.

Barnyard Kingdom
Throughout the pathways of the corn maze, you will find pictures, clues and games to make this learning process fun for the entire family! After you have mastered the maze, experience the rest of our many activities including swine races, the petting zoo, hay rides, and much more. Barnyard Kingdom is also the perfect place for a wagon ride and pumpkin picking. Find your perfect size pumpkin in the pumpkin patch.

Lancaster Ghost Tour

Cherry Hill Orchards
Cherry Hill Orchards is the largest pick-your-own fruit farm in Lancaster. Their facility provides fun things to do and the opportunity for fall memories to be made.

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm
A leader in the growing world of "agri-tainment," your family will have an opportunity to laugh and learn while engaging in a variety of wholesome activities on a working farm. Be sure to try out the dynamic and interactive 5-acre corn maze with more than 2.5 miles of paths, scenic bridges, and clues.

Dutch Wonderland
Enjoy hauntingly friendly fun, ideal for families, at Dutch Wonderland's Happy Hauntings. This "Kingdom For Kids!" will feature themed rides and attractions, trick-or-treating, magic shows, ghoulish games, storytelling by The Princess and Knight of Dutch Wonderland, and much more.

Whether you're seeking thrills or treats, Hersheypark offers fun for all ages this fall, with 13 coasters, trick-or-treat trail, and a special ZooAmerica presentation of Creatures of the Night.

Field of Screams
When it comes to terrifying thrills and spine-tingling chills, Field of Screams will give you more than you can handle! Celebrating their 26th Season with four Haunted Experiences and an impressive Midway Area, after one visit you will soon realize why their Horrifying Haunted Hayride, Two Massive Haunted Houses, and Wicked Haunted Woods make Field of Screams America's #1 Haunted Attraction


Tailgating Festival at Kitchen Kettle Village
Every year Kitchen Kettle Village pays tribute to tailgating season with a two-day food festival filled with delicious and sometimes crazy events. There are plenty of activities for young and old, families and couples alike.

Bridge Bust in Columbia, PA
Over 300 vendors will offer their wares in the categories of antiques, art, crafts, food and unique items in this unique and popular event. The venue is the Rt. 462 Veterans Memorial Bridge between Columbia and Wrightsville.

Kids Pumpkin Pickin' Days at Oregon Dairy
Kids Pumpkin Pickin' Days at Oregon Dairy features free wagon rides, pumpkin picking, and a Punkin' Chuck'r! Kids will enjoy the straw tunnel, pebble toy box, and replica milking cow.

Trick-or-Treat at Turkey Hill Experience
Enjoy a family-friendly experience as children have fun while they trick-or-treat through Turkey Hill Experience. There are plenty of treats for everyone. Be sure to wear your favorite Halloween costume!

Fall Farm Days at Amish Farm & House
In addition to the Amish Farm & House’s regular attractions, this weekend we offer pumpkin face painting, a corn maze, hay wagon rides, burlap sack slide, a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, and much more. In addition, we have demonstrators doing woodcarving, blacksmithing, and applesauce making.

Harvest Days Festival at Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum
Come for family-oriented demos, exhibits, live music & activities, as well as horse-drawn wagon rides and a children’s discovery tent. Watch apples become apple butter and taste a cider float with fresh churned ice cream.

Acre Breaker Adventure Race at Spooky Nook Sports

Hosted by Spooky Nook Sports, the Acre Breaker Adventure Race is a 2.5 (4k) adventure race for all fitness levels. A longer 5 mile (8k) course will be offered for those who want even more of a challenge. The race will include 12 obstacles in a rugged field. This race is for ages 14+ and there will be waves for individuals as well as teams.

Trunk-or-Treat at Antique Automobile Club of America Museum
All visitors 12 and under will be eligible to participate in the AACA Museum’s “Trunk-or-Treat” program included with museum admission. Participants will hunt for a variety of "trunk-or-treat" spots within the main and lower levels of the Museum. Treats will be given at each of these treat locations. Be sure to bring your own treat bag!

The Spooky Scoot at Strasburg Scooters
Lancaster County has long been known for its Amish farms and beautiful landscape, but when the sun goes down the back roads take on a different look. Follow your guide deep into the night in one of our two person Scoot Coupes as they lead you on a hair-raising adventure, traveling the eerie back roads, making stops to hear local folklore and the lesser known haunted side of Lancaster County.


There's no better way to spend a fall day than strolling down the midway with a caramel apple in hand. Elizabethtown Fair
Come see agricultural, competitive and commercial exhibits and enjoy a free petting zoo, free nightly entertainment, contests for all ages, rides and lots of great food!

York Fair
The York Fair, "America's First Fair®" is an annual Fair held in September, beginning the first Friday after Labor Day. Check out all the livestock in the Utz Arena, enjoy the annual butter sculpture, live music, Hot Dog Racing Pigs (and Dachshunds, too!) and more.

Denver Fair
Enjoy free entertainment, contests, rides, animal exhibits, fruit & vegetables displays, commercial exhibits and craft exhibits. Admission is free. Parking charges benefit the local Fire Company and Boy Scout Troop, and Church.

Solanco Fair
Held every September, this fair features animal, produce and craft displays, a parade, and delicious food.

Ephrata Fair
Started in 1919, the Ephrata Fair is the largest street fair in Pennsylvania! It's a time for folks to reacquaint with old friends, indulge in their favorite fair foods, browse the many exhibits and enjoy the variety of concessions, games, and rides.

West Lampeter Fair
Held in September, this community fair features community spirit, competitions, tasty food, antique tractor pulls, livestock shows, and more!

New Holland Farmer's Fair
The four day event kicks off with the Spectacle of Bands Parade when excitement and attendance is at its peak. There is something for everyone throughout the week, including delicious fair food, rides, games, and more.

Manheim Community Farm Show
The Manheim Community Farm Show exists to promote agriculture, crafts and competition in a friendly environment that encourages family values and cooperation. Enjoy free admission and free registration to all exhibits.

Lanchester Harvest Festival and Car Show
Enjoy Native American drumming and dancing, vendors, food, kids activities, jack-o-lantern contest, art contest, poetry contest, raffles and more! This event benefits Vietnam Veterans.

Annual Harvest Days
Landis Valley Village and Farm Musem hosts Harvest Days which is a culmination of a year's worth of hard work with demonstrations, crafts, wagon rides, and food to immerse yourself in Pennsylvania German traditions.
