In Merrie Old England, peasants and noblemen alike would converge upon country crossroads to feast upon fine foods, sell their wares, sing and dance, and revel in the merriment of the day. These holidays gave birth to new ideas, art forms and dreams of a larger world and what we call today a Renaissance Faire. In the spirit of such gatherings, each August for 12 glorious weekends, the PRF, named One of the Top 100 Events in North America, invites you to live the romance and adventure as we celebrate our 27th glorious year of jousting knights and royal delights.
FEAST upon delectable foods prepared from 21 Royal Kitchens
CHEER your favorite knight to victory in the Ultimate Joust
BEHOLD craftsmen bantering and bartering their wares as they
demonstrate their art before your very eyes
TASTE complimentary samples of Mount Hope Vintage wines
MARVEL at the manicured gardens, fountains and 100s of Tudor structures that house the chefs, merchants, and performers of the Shire
APPLAUD the magic, music, and merriment of over 90 shows from 12 Shire stages including a 3-story replica of Shakespeare’s Globe Theater
REVEL & CAROUSE with the singing rogues and wenches at our own Swashbuckler Microbrewery
LAUGH out loud at the earthy-antics of the Mud Show, hilarious
sword fighting comedy of Don Juan & Miguel, naughtiness of Looney Lucy & Ploppy, wacky bagpipe playing and highland dancing of The Tartan Terrors and the art of being a fool from Marquis and Ima-Nut. 100s of colorfully costumed characters roam hither and yon about our 35-acre village of yore
The amazing Celtic Fling and Highland Games serve as the festival precursor to the Faire. Mount Hope Mansion, the centerpiece of the Fairegrounds, hosts the annual Charles Dickens Victorian Christmas celebration from Thanksgiving through Christmas. Informative and entertaining wine and ale tastings are available year-round along with catered meals from picnics to formal Mansion dining extravaganzas.
