Mayor's Tree Lighting and Tuba Christmas | Penn Square, Downtown Lancaster
The official kickoff of the holiday season begins with the Mayor’s Tree Lighting in Penn Square. Carolers, the infamous “Tuba Christmas” and evening hours for Central Market lend to the festivities.
Santa's Paradise Express | Strasburg Rail Road
Ride the rails with Santa and his helpers! Santa himself will climb aboard and visit with families as they travel down the tracks. Children ages 11 and under will receive a special gift. Onboard photo opportunities with Santa will be available. At the station, children are invited to listen to storybook readings of holiday classics aboard a heated stationary caboose and will be charmed with rides aboard the Tinsel Trolley, a self-propelled motorcar.
Night Before Christmas Train | Strasburg Rail Road
Sparkling skies, warmth from a potbelly stove, smells of freshly baked cookies and magic in the air. This special train recreates the excitement and anticipation of Christmas Eve. A reader dressed in a Victorian nightshirt and cap will read Clement Clarke Moore’s classic poem, The Night Before Christmas, as passengers enjoy cookies and milk while the train rolls along. At the station, children are invited to listen to storybook readings of holiday classics aboard a heated stationary caboose and will be charmed with rides aboard the Tinsel Trolley, a self-propelled motorcar.
Kitchen Kettle Christmas | Kitchen Kettle Village
Whether you venture out and brave the cold or prefer the warmer climes of the great indoors - winter at Kitchen Kettle Village is a wonderland filled with exciting and unexpected things to do, see and experience. Enjoy breakfast with Santa Claus and our gingerbread man mascot, Yummie. The breakfast buffet features a feast of Lancaster County foods including scrambled eggs, home-fried potatoes, sausage, and more. All children 12 and under attending the breakfast receive a special gift from Santa Claus and have the opportunity to meet Santa and Yummie. Or add some magic to the hustle and bustle of your holidays by enjoying dinner with Mrs. Claus and Yummie. The evening includes a family style feast of Lancaster County foods. The night also features storytelling with Mrs. Claus and Yummie, a gift from Mrs. Claus, and photo opportunities.
Holiday Model Railroad Open House | Garden Spot Village
Create a great holiday memory. The Garden Spot Village Train Club invites families and train enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy the sights and sounds of its annual model railroad open house. The interactive exhibit includes a brand-new O-gauge display and an HO-gauge display with more than 600 feet of main line track, a talking Thomas the Tank Engine, wireless video-cam and more.

The Bunyaad Rug Room at Ten Thousand Villages is turning into the North Pole, with Santa posing for free photos with all those who enjoy fairly traded rugs, from kids to adults to pets. With a special children’s shopping area in the store and live children’s music throughout the day, it’s holiday fun not to miss!

Christmas with the Conductor | Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania
The conductor calls all aboard for classic holiday stories in one of the Museum’s historic passenger coaches. Kids will also delight in creating their own seasonal take-home craft and receiving a small bag of goodies. Advance registration is required and is offered on a first come basis. Recommended for children ages 3 and over.
Annual Tour of Homes | Strasburg Heritage Society
Enjoy 10 homes representing old and new, big and small, cozy and regal dwellings in and near Strasburg. Visitors will view outstanding examples of preservation, restoration, and newer homes and get ideas for their own places. Houses will be decorated for the season for all to enjoy. Homeowners will be on hand for any questions and compliments. Three nineteenth century churches will join in the seasonal spirit by sharing their beautifully decorated sanctuaries with tour goers. Light lunches and bakes goods will be available. The tour begins at First Presbyterian Church, 101 South Decatur St. Locations to buy tickets in advance include: Strasburg at Main Street Antiques, Springerle House, Finishing Touch, Eldreth Pottery, and OCB Cakes.

A Pennsylvania German Christmas | Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum
Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum welcomes you to celebrate a Pennsylvania Dutch Christmas. Take a wagon ride, tour several of our decorated historic buildings, huddle around a large bonfire, and sing carols accompanied by the Lititz Moravian Trombone Choir. Afterwards, join friends and family in the Yellow Barn for cookies and hot cider. The event is free and open to the public and there is ample free parking.
Days of the Belsnickel Lunch Tour | Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum
Meet at the Visitor Center, then take a tour of some of the decorated buildings in the village. After that, you'll head to the historic 1856 Landis Valley House Hotel where you'll enjoy a full, hot lunch. Then, it's off to the Firehouse for a hilarious visit from "der Belsnickel," who will heckle you and your friends to the delight of all. From there, you can wander to the Landis Valley Museum Store, where you can shop among the locally made treasures for wonderfully unique Christmas gifts.

Polar Express Pajama Party | Antique Automobile Club of America Museum
Visitors will be greeted at the door by a railroad conductor who stamps their golden ticket and they are free to enjoy a tour of the AACA Museum including the Polar Express model train display along with several other train displays and dozens of holiday trees, specialty vehicles and more in our holiday wonderland. A Brandywine Christmas | Brandywine River Museum
Discover the renowned O-gauge model train display of more than 1,000 pieces, with trains running on nearly 2,000 feet of track, and thousands of whimsical Critters (ornaments and decorations handcrafted by our volunteers from all natural materials) displayed on towering trees soaring up through the Museum's three-story rotunda.
