There is so much family fun in Lancaster, PA, make sure you plan out your visit! Use the ideas below to incorporate something for each family member into your Lancaster trip.

Hands-on Learning

Learning can be fun, especially when kids are able to discover new things through hands-on activities. Lancaster's unique heritage and history provides the perfect home for museums and historical attractions that provide interactive learning for your young history buff. Just in case a rainy day rolls through, Hands-on House Children's Museum, North Museum of Nature and Science, Snapology, and Lancaster Science Factory also provide hours of exploration and learning. The kiddos can also explore and have fun at Tiny Town's indoor playplace and more >

Foodie Fun

Food-filled attractions in Lancaster County give kids the opportunity to learn more about how their favorite snacks and sweets are made. They can even make their own treats! Kids can try their hand at pretzel twisting at Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, and learn about candy making at Wilbur Chocolate Store & Candy Museum. Both attractions are located within walking distance of each other in Lititz. For a cool treat, learn more about the art of ice cream making at Turkey Hill Experience, where kids can create and enjoy their own ice cream flavor in the Taste Lab.

An Artsy Afternoon

For the aspiring arts, find your way out of the rain and into one of Lancaster's creative spaces, including pottery studios, a bead shop and studio, and guided art classes. Kids can pick and paint their own pottery masterpiece at The Pottery Works in Downtown Lancaster, or create a canvas masterpiece with a guided art class at Painting with a Twist. For those looking to create a wearable work of art, make sure to include a trip to the BeadWorks and Gem Den.

Active Adventures

If cabin-fever has set in, and you're looking for a way to get lots of energy out, we've got plenty of high-energy places to play and explore. Make memories with an exhilarating game of laser tag at Laserdome, or take to the rock climbing wall at Spooky Nook Sports. Bounce on over to Sky Zone Trampoline Park for fun for all ages. Just wanting a safe space for your kid(s) to run around and potentially meet new friends? Check out Busy Bodies Play Cafe! Where children 1 to 6 years old are able to have an interactive and creative space to play.

Be outside and take in the history of Lancaster County. In our Amish Country sits Mascot Roller Mills and Ressler Family Home, a historic and remarkably preserved water-powered grain mill. Step back in time to learn about milling history along the banks of scenic Mill Creek. Admission is free and is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, May through October.
