Amish Country

Head out to the winding roads of Lancaster’s Countryside. If you’re out in Bird-in-Hand or Intercourse, odds are you’ll see a horse and buggy galloping along the road or an Amish farmer working on the fields. There are plenty of farms to see from the road where livestock and farm animals graze in the pastures. Amish Farm and House offers opportunities to get an up-close understanding of the Amish Culture. Take a 90-minute countryside bus tour to enhance your visit to Amish Country. On the tour you’ll see Amish horse and buggies, schoolhouses, farms, and homes. Columbia Crossings River Trails Center

Enjoy a leisurely bike ride near the river with the entire family! The Northwest Lancaster County River Trail begins at Columbia Crossings and stretches 14-miles to the river town of Falmouth. The trail follows the route of historic Pennsylvania Mainline Canal and some remains of the original towpath are visible from the trail. In addition to hiking, biking, running, and walking, Columbia Crossings is a picturesque picnic spot. There are plenty of tables and pavilions that make for a beautiful outdoor setting, rain or shine! There are few things that taste as good as fresh produce and there’s something nostalgic about perusing the stands and hand picking the items you want. Strasburg Rail Road
