Naturally, outdoor activities abound — from zip-lining, hiking, biking, and enjoying fun-filled days at an amusement park. A walk through our historic downtown is the perfect way to spend a few summer hours shopping, dining, and discovering.
Another summer love is to simply kick back under the purple-blue skies, listening to the sounds of beautiful music fill the air at one of our many summer concert series.

Temperatures
June typically begins with daytime temperatures in the low 80s, but gradually increases throughout the month, usually reaching 85 degrees by the end of the month. July is typically in the mid 80s. August begins in the high 80s and ends in the high 80s or mid 90s. Evenings are typically warmer, and around the mid 60s.
Attire
Appropriate clothing for travelers in the summer months is light pants or shorts and a light shirt both during the day and evening. Occasionally you may want to pack a sweatshirt for the evenings.
Precipitation
Lancaster County sees average amounts of rainfall for the Northeast. In summer, the average rainfall is almost 4.12” per month. Thunderstorms are common in the summer months, often in the evening.
